2000 people killed in CNG blasts in year 2011

Embarking upon the serious threat posed by illegal sale of low-quality CNG cylinders, the Civil Society Front Pakistan (CSF) has published a report, stating that more than 2,000 people have died in CNG cylinders’ explosions in 2011 and the figures are more likely to double this year as the government and authorities concerned have so far not taken any concrete steps in this regard. The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is being observed throughout the world on the call of International Labour Organization (ILO). To mark this occasion, a seminar to highlight health and safety issues in the country will be organized by Centre for the Improvement of Working Conditions & Environment (CIWCE) Lahore.
