Twelve miners were killed when a phosphate mine in Kalidhar area caved in Mansehra on Wednesday.
According to police, the miners entered the mine on Wednesday to extract phosphate illegally but soon after a major portion of the mine caved in suddenly and all the people inside were buried alive. Police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and with the help of local people recovered the bodies. Five of them belong to the same family. News reported in Pakistan Today on 25 Jan 2012.
